Are you dreaming of an adventure in the exciting city of Amsterdam, departing from London? It’s easy to travel from the English capital to Amsterdam by train. You can make this journey of over 500 km in less than 4 hours by Eurostar. You don’t even need to change trains.
Your journey begins at St Pancras International station, where before boarding the Eurostar trains, you will have to go through check-in. In order to enter the Schengen Area, verification of identity and travel documents is required. During these security checks, baggage and passengers alike need to go through a scanner.
Check-in1 is located in a specially designed terminal. The Terminal also offers various recreational facilities for when you’re waiting to board your train to Amsterdam. Relax in one of the cafés, shops or comfortable lounge areas before your departure. Find the check-in on the station plan >
Once aboard Eurostar, you’ll first travel to Brussels – through the Channel Tunnel – at 300 km/h and in only 1:48. After a quick stop, you'll then travel to Amsterdam via Rotterdam.
After 3 hours 41 minutes, you'll arrive at Amsterdam Central station (located in the very centre of the city). Here, the wide array of different public transport lines on offer means you can start your visit to the city with ease. Travel like a real Amsterdammer and take the most popular form of transport: the bike!
1 We recommend our clients to present themselves at check-in 45 minutes before the train’s departure.
