International rail travel for passengers with reduced mobility

In order to make travelling possible to everyone, you will find all information about reserving specific seats for passengers with reduced mobility and about assistance at the station for international train journeys.

Specific places for passengers in wheelchairs

Some trains have a wheelchair space, which can be reserved at a specific fare:

Eurostar and TGV INOUI

On Eurostar and TGV INOUI trains, one or more wheelchair spaces are provided in 1st class, which offers more space so you don't have to leave your wheelchair. These seats are located very close to large toilets, which are accessible to wheelchair users. This space will be given to you upon request (subject to availability). A special fare applies, so that wheelchair users (as well as one companion) can travel in 1st class at a 2nd class fare.

On direct connections to and from Belgium with Eurostar and TGV INOUI, you can now book the wheelchair space online, as well as the seat for an accompanying person.

Special wheelchair spaces are also available on ICE trains (Brussels-Cologne-Frankfurt connection). They are located in 2nd class, near the toilets for wheelchair users. Book your wheelchair space by phone on +32 2 432 38 01, available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 4.30pm on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Get assistance for international rail journeys from and to Belgium

Do you need assistance at your departure and arrival station when travelling from or to Belgium? Please log in to your My SNCB account (or create your account) and reserve your assistance online. You can also call the SNCB information and telephone assistance centre on +32 (0)2 607 30 00 (7/7 days from 7.00 am to 9.30 pm at least 24 hours before you start your journey).

On the day of travel, make sure you arrive at the agreed meeting point 30 minutes before departure of your international train (1 hour if you are travelling by Eurostar). We will accompany you to the train and help you board and leave the train.

N.B.: if you are travelling in a wheelchair, your online request for assistance will only be processed if you have actually booked the special space for wheelchairs on the train.
