Your journey starts on board Eurostar or InterCity trains from Amsterdam Central Station. Both will get you to the first stop, Brussels (Zuid/Midi) train station. The high-speed Eurostar trains run this route in 1:50, while the journey takes just under 3 hours on conventional InterCity trains, which do offer you higher flexibility.
In Brussels, you can take your connecting Eurostar at Brussels (Midi/Zuid) station right after your arrival there. Great Britain isn’t included in the Schengen Area, so you’ll have to go through check-in1 at the Channel Terminal.
The Belgian and British authorities will verify your identity documents and – if required – your visa. During these security checks, baggage and passengers alike need to go through a scanner. The Terminal offers various recreational facilities for when you’re waiting to board your train to London. Relax in one of the cafés, shops or comfortable lounge areas before your departure.

For the last part of your journey, travel by Eurostar at 300km/h – through the Channel Tunnel – and reach London after a travel time of only 1 hour 48 minutes. The train’s terminus is London St Pancras International. Ideally located in the city centre, this train station provides easy access to other means of public transportation, as well as many of the city’s tourist attractions.
1 Our booking system takes into account the time it takes to check in, offering you departure times to London which have been adjusted accordingly.
Employees of ProRail (railway infrastructure manager in the Netherlands) have submitted strike notices for 11, 13, 15, 18, 20 and 22 November
Each time, these actions will involve local strikes in a specific alternating region between 6am and 9am.
Tickets for the IC Brussels-Amsterdam at Flex fare are refundable free of charge and can be used flexibly on any IC train of the day. Exceptionally, Early Bird tickets for travel on 13 and 18 November can also be refunded free of charge or used flexibly on any IC train of the day.
Due to planned engineering works on the Dutch rail network, InterCity Netherlands trains will be diverted to an alternative route between Rotterdam and Amsterdam from Saturday 16 to Sunday 1 December 2024 inclusive. As a consequence, they will not call at Schiphol-Airport and the travel time will be slightly adjusted.
Passengers to Schiphol-Airport can change trains in Rotterdam and make use of other NS (Dutch railway) operated trains to Schiphol-Airport.
Please check the adapted schedules for your journey a few days before travel.
