21 February (from 10 pm) - 2 March: strike in Belgium

Due to announced strike in Belgium, the rail service on the Belgian rail network will be limited from Friday 21 February (10 pm) to Sunday 2 March 2025 included.

An alternative train service will be put in place depending on the available staff. The detailed schedule for every day will be available on www.sncb.be the day before.

Please take alternative service into account if you are travelling on our cross-border local trains to/from Lille, Maubeuge, Luxembourg, Roosendaal, Maastricht or Aachen or if you need to take a local connection in Belgium before or after your international journey.

For most international trains (Eurostar, TGV INOUI, ICE, OUIGO etc...), no consequences have been announced so far except:

Eurocity Direct (Brussels-Amsterdam) will operate between Rotterdam and Lelystad without serving Belgium from 22 February to 2 March included.
EuroCity (Brussels-Rotterdam): from 22 February to 2 March included, 12 trains out of 16 will operate in each direction between Brussels and Rotterdam. Cancelled trains:
- 9227: Brussels-Midi 09:44 - Rotterdam CS 11:50
- 9243: Brussels-Midi 13:44 - Rotterdam CS 15:50
- 9255: Brussels-Midi 16:44 - Rotterdam CS 18:50
- 9271: Brussels-Midi 20:44 - Rotterdam CS 22:50
- 9220: Rotterdam CS 09:09 - Brussels-Midi 11:17
- 9248: Rotterdam CS 16:09 - Brussels-Midi 18:17
- 9256: Rotterdam CS 18:09 - Brussels-Midi 20:17
- 9268: Rotterdam CS 21:09 - Brussels-Midi 23:17
ICE: the following trains are cancelled on Sunday 23/2:
- 11: Brussels-Midi 06:23 - Köln Hbf 08:15 - Frankfurt Hbf 09:31
- 17: Brussels-Midi 14:25 - Köln Hbf 16:15 - Frankfurt Hbf 17:40
- 16: Frankfurt Hbf 10:27 - Köln Hbf 11:42 - Brussels-Midi 13:35
- 10: Frankfurt Hbf 18:27 - Köln Hbf 19:42 - Brussels-Midi 21:35
ICE: on Monday 24/2, ICE 13 is cancelled (Brussels-Midi 08:25 - Köln Hbf 10:15 - Frankfurt Hbf 11:31)
TGV INOUI: the following trains are cancelled from Monday 24/02 to Thursday 27 February:

9870: Brussels-Midi 07:17 - Strasbourg 11:05
9894: Strasbourg 17:01 - Brussels-Midi 21:01

Nightjet: the train from Vienna and Berlin of Sunday 23/02 will terminate in Cologne. The train to Vienna and Berlin of Monday 24/02 will depart from Cologne. Between Cologne and Brussels/Liège, passengers can use ICE trains.

We advise to check this page regularly for further updates.

If you have a ticket for the EuroCity or Eurocity Direct train for travel between Belgium and the Netherlands from 22/02 to 02/03, please note that:

During the period of the strike, the validity of Saver tickets is not restricted to the train and time mentioned on the ticket.
Your ticket is valid from Friday 21/02 to Monday 03/03, allowing you to anticipate or postpone your journey if necessary.
Tickets for the Eurocity Direct are exceptionally valid on EuroCity trains and local trains via Roosendaal.
If you prefer not to travel, your ticket is fully refundable.

Similarly, if you have an ICE ticket for a journey between Belgium and Germany during this period, please note that if your ICE is cancelled, tickets are exceptionally valid on any SNCB or Deutsche Bahn train to your destination at a later moment. If you prefer not to travel because of the cancellation of your ICE or because of a predictable delay of more than 60 minutes on arrival, you can apply for a full refund.
